A Strong Foundation
Dobbs & Company Electrical Contractors, Inc. (DCEC) was originally known as Ronald Terry Electric. Ronald and Joyce Terry established the company in 1974. During their 25 years in business, they created a company that grew to be a household name in Decatur, Alabama. If you needed electrical work done, your neighbors would say: “Call Ronald Terry.”
In 1999, Ronald decided it might be time to retire and approached Greg Dobbs. Greg had been working in the electrical field since 1980. His reputation for being an honest, fair, and knowledgeable electrician made him an obvious choice to take over ownership of Ronald Terry Electric. Having great respect for Mr. Terry and the business he had created, Mr. Dobbs kept the company name the same.
A Powerful Future
Over the next 13 years under the leadership of Greg Dobbs, the company grew, while maintaining that personal, hometown feel. Mr. Dobbs and his team continued to tackle larger, more complex projects. With a portfolio of commercial and industrial projects as well as growth in staff and investments in equipment, Mr. Dobbs decided it was time to make the full transformation from Ronald Terry Electric to Dobbs & Company Electrical Contractors, Inc. (DCEC). On January 1, 2012, he officially changed the name and created a new logo. The company moved to an expanded facility and later added a parts warehouse, streamlining its operations.
From its small, humble beginnings DCEC has grown into a large multi-million dollar company that, in addition to its large commercial and industrial projects, maintains a top rate residential and small business service department that takes care of every electrical need. DCEC is still the company that your neighbor will tell you to call with any electrical jobs you need done.
